A Dancer in the Infinite - Chapter 10

Chapter  10

Toxoplasma Gondii

"Toxoplasma Gondii has never been found in human or animal remains prior to the early Bronze Age. It is for all intents and purposes an entirely new organism in Biological History. It didn't evolve from any known terrestrial organism and everywhere the Toxoplasmosis infection rate hit 50% or higher it has caused the collapse of even advanced civilizations. On the Mesoamerican super civilizations that rivaled and even exceeded lauded cultures such as ancient Egypt, Sumeria, Persia were mapping the stars, performing brain surgery, installing indoor plumbing when Toxoploama Gondii in buried remains was less than 11%, where a few decades later falling apart, perpetually at war and turning to population decimating regimes of human sacrifice when Toxoplasma Gondii infection levels reached 30% and by the time those civilizations collapsed had capped 50% rate of infected among their population. The descendants of these amazing people now wear loincloths and hunt monkeys with blowguns and have a Toxoplasmosis infection levels in the 80% range. The USA was at less than 10% in the 1950s(our greatest period of growth, innovation with low incidents of social violence) and now that our civilization is delaminating we find Toxoplasma Gondii in 40% of the population. The UK by comparison has 14% rate of infection and are far more sane as a nation than the USA has become in recent years. Cats may be the most common vector but direct transmission is often overlooked and if studies both in the US and abroad place 89% of all Schizophrenics squarely in the infected population then how many infected people are mildly psychotic or deranged and still functioning. As an aside Toxoplasma Gondii also mimics the iron metabolism of many cancers and is starting to become a major source of concern among immunology and cancer studies as an underlying facilitator for many types of cancers." – Anonymous internet poster

There exists in our world, a parasitic protozoa, called Toxoplasma Gondii.  All warm blooded creatures are susceptible to its infection, and it can reproduce asexually in all such animals.  However, the favorite host, through whatever evolutionary mechanism, is cats, all species wild and domestic.  It is only in the digestive system of felines that Toxoplasma Gondii is able to sexually reproduce.  It ever seeks to return there.  In other animals, it seeks a different home … within the brain, specifically the Amygdala or fear center of the brain, where it seems to be able to turn on and off the fear itself and cause the production of dopamine.

New research on these parasites indicates that infected mice lose their instinctive fear of cats and seek them out.  In other warm-blooded animals these brain parasites lodge in the brains of their hosts, and affect the host’s behavior.  T.G. infections have been linked to a variety of mental illness, including neuroticism, schizophrenia, narcissistic personality disorder … including malignant narcissism, called by philosopher Eric Fromm, the definition of evil.  It is now thought that as the infection rate increases in a population, the entire course of societies can be affected by toxoplasmosis.  Quite recently, the Prime Minister of Iceland made a public warning on these microscopic invaders, though it was, like most news from Iceland, ignored by the North American media conglomerates.

It is further hypothesized that the unique conoids which these parasites possess, may be a form of an induction coil, capable of receiving and transmitting electromagnetic signals.  The microtubules used in the “coil and the wiring” have very unique attributes and microtubules have recently been proven to be "quantum antennas" by the magnificent scientists Penrose and Hameroff....and that suggest that Toxoplasma Gondii is the most advanced single celled creature yet to be discovered on this planet.  It is well on its way on becoming the dominant form of life on Earth.

This much we know in regards to these brain invaders.
